I couldn't bring everything I do in the studio to live shows without a Nord Stage. It is such an integral part of my playing in whatever band I'm in, that some of my bandmates say I don't play the keyboards, I play the Nord. I use the outputs to send certain sounds through outboard routing and to amplifiers, and other sounds direct to the PA. The morph controllers allow me to manage how each of those signals behave without taking my focus off of singing and performing. I just got the Stage 2EX and am using the Sample Library and Sample Editor to add Mellotron and specific sounds from studio sessions.

Mike Maimone is a keyboardist and singer/songwriter living in Chicago, IL. His band Mutts is a unique keys-based combination of rock, ragtime, and blues, described as "like Tom Waits fronting a garage band" by Time Out Magazine. Of his solo performances, Vern Hester of the Windy City Times said, “The man has the keyboard style of Fats Waller and Jerry Lee Lewis combined, and a vocal style that clearly recalls Tom Waits and Warren Zevon." He has played over 100 tour dates each year since 2007 as a solo artist, with Mutts, and as a session keyboardist for Company of Thieves and Los Colognes among others. Highlights include Lollapolooza, Riot Fest, Last Call with Carson Daly, Sasquatch!, and Forecastle Fest. Maimone has released 5 LPs and 5 EPs since 2008 on his label 8eat8 Records, with new releases for both his solo project and Mutts on the way.
