Q: What can I do with the "control pedal" jack on my Electro?

A: A connected control pedal (use the Roland type, like EV-5) can be used for two things: When the Organ is used, as a Swell pedal, and when the Piano section is used with the Wah 1 effect selected, you can control the filter sweep with the pedal. If a piano is active and the Wah-1 effect is not used, the control pedal will not control anything at all.

Nord driver software now on Windows Update

2010-07-08In our efforts to make our units and applications as easy as possible to use, we have now added our WHQL certified driver to the Microsoft Windows Update system.

This means that if you use the compatible Nord units with a XP, Vista or Windows 7 computer, the driver can be automatically updated using Windows Update if the computer is connect to the Internet.

Note: The Nord Stage Classic, Nord Stage EX, Nord Electro 3, Nord Piano, Nord C2 and the Nord Wave use the driver that is compatible with Windows Update. The most recent Clavia USB driver version for these units is v3.00.

OS Update for the Nord Stage EX

2010-06-28The Nord Stage EX OS has been updated to version 6.04. This update contains an adjusted velocity balance between the black and the white keys. More information can be found on the Nord Stage EX Update History page. Get this update in the Download area.

OS Update for the Nord Piano

2010-06-22The Nord Piano OS has been updated to version 1.26 with adjusted velocity balance between black and white keys, as well as half-pedaling and sustain pedal noise control via MIDI. We also fixed an issue where the Piano could freeze if the USB MIDI was active and connected to a OS X computer that went into sleep mode.

OS Updates for Electro 3 and Stage Classic

2010-06-16We are very pleased to announce the OS updates that enable the Nord Stage Classic and the Nord Electro 3 to benefit from the v5 platform, with the new great v5 Piano sounds, the new Sound Manager 5.30 and the v3.00 Windows Hardware Quality Labs certified USB driver.

The 5.30 Sound Manager is required to be able to load the v5 Piano sounds. The Windows version of the Manager also has a self-contained installer for a new WHQL certified USB driver. The installer automatically checks your computer for installed drivers, and replaces these with new version if necessary.

Wave Trance Banks 3

2010-06-15For all Nord Community Clubbers: Wave Trance Banks with a a series of three banks, with a total of 384 sugar fresh programs for the blessed Nord Wave synthesizer.

The third, and last bank of the Wave Trance Banks features more of the appreciated mix of pads, leads, chords and basses for the trance / techno / dance / pop-scene. As a bonus, a dedicated drum kit with sounds from the three synth banks, is made available too.

OS Update for the Nord C2 Combo Organ

2010-06-08The Nord C2 OS has been updated to v1.32, including a major enhancement of the reverb algorithm and to the voice allocation algorithm that affects the pipe organ (the other organ models have full polyphony). Previously during certain circumstances, if you used a lot of stops and couplers, and then played some intense music - perhaps using both hands and a foot on the Pedal Keys 27 - notes could inadvertently become silenced.

The method with which the keyboard activates the pipe organ sounds has also been enhanced. This enables you to benefit from the High trigger point (fast setting in the System Menu). Previously the pipe organ was always triggered on the lower keyboard switch, regardless of the setting of this System parameter. Read more about the OS changes on the C2 Update History page.

Nord Piano Library v5 release!

2010-05-31V5 is a new platform for the Nord Piano sounds, a platform that was developed originally for the Nord Piano. This functionality and the sounds are now available for the Stage EX, Stage Classic and the Electro 3.

The v5 platform includes both new and re-mastered sounds in the highly acclaimed Nord Piano Library, a new version of the Sound Manager with an integrated USB driver installer (Windows versions only) and a new OS for the Stage EX series. The USB driver is not only signed by us as a trusted publisher known by Microsoft, it is furthermore WHQL certified which means that you will not have to endure the warning dialogs during installation anymore.
