Rob began his music career with a school band, later forming a rock band called ‘Cinema'. He is a member of the classic rock band Cairo.

In 1995, he formed 'Ghost' and produced his own album. 'Behind The Orchard Tree', the album that he recorded at Linford Manor Studios in the UK, was released in March 2002. This album led to the formation of Touchstone, whose name was taken from one of Rob's lyrics in the album. Touchstone represented a dynamic combination of sensitivity and hard-hitting rock.
Touchstone went on to release one EP, four albums, a double live album, and a live DVD. The band reached No. 34 on the UK rock album charts in 2011 and No. 26 in 2013 with its last studio album. After Touchstone, Rob formed Cairo and recorded two further solo albums - Captain Blue and Back Behind The Orchard Tree. The latter was a re-recorded and updated version of his original 2002 album. In March 2017, Cairo won the Classic Rock Society's Best Newcomer Band award after releasing their debut album 'Say' in October 2016. The band is set to release its second studio album.
